Using the RDMS
There are two kinds of users to the RDMS
- Users who store their own research data in a structural manner. These researchers order and structure their data themselves to keep overview of their work and data. Metadata may be added to enhance re-usability or make it easier to retrieve datasets. They can choose to store their data on their projects, home drives or group drives.
- Data managers, data engineers and data stewards. These users organize and set up file structures and file rights for multiple researchers. They can use metadata templates to folders to ensure their integrity or add triggers to the folders or files. These users manage data for a project or a research group.
The chapters on Access, Uploading and Metadata of this wiki is for the researcher who wants to store her data on the RDMS. Maybe use the Team drive to share data.
The chapter on Research Projects of this wiki is for data managers and data stewards
Advanced Use of the RDMS
For staff members in the role of data manager, data engineer or data steward a description of the workflow and functionalities for the data management can be found in the chapter on Research Projects of this wiki
