With Linux

There are multiple ways to interact with the RDMS from the Linux OS.

  • Via the RDMS web interface: The RDMS WebApp will allow you to upload or download single files that are not bigger than 50 MB, but it mainly written for management of groups and projects and to search for data.
  • Via WebDAV in your file browser
  • Via the command-line
    • By mounting of an RDMS location using irodsfs
    • By using iCommands which provides extended functionalities and is especially recommended for RDMS power users.

On both platforms iCommands are pre-installed and its usage is the preferred way in these environment, but irodsfs is also possible. Please refer to With Linux Workspace and With Hábrók HPC sections for further information.
