iRODS

The basis of the RDMS is iRODS. The integrated Rule-Oriented Data System (iRODS) that was created by the DICE group in 2006 as open source software, around a highly-configurable Rule Engine. Today iRODS is maintained in a consortium and it still is open source. iRODS runs on Linux servers and is accessible from the command line on a Linux desktop or HPC environment via iCommands. In this wiki you will find instructions how to install iCommands.

To make this platform accessible for users from Windows or Mac we have build a web interface to the iRODS system that allows users interact with the system via a graphical user interface in a browser.
