Using the RDMS

There are two kinds of users to the RDMS

  1. Users who want to store research data in a structural manner. These researchers order and structure their data themselves to keep overview of their work and data. Metadata may be added to enhance searchibility or make it easier to retrieve datasets. They can choose to store their data in home drives, group drives or as a project.
  2. Users who act as data managers, data engineers, or data stewards. These users organize and set up file structures and file rights for multiple researchers. These users manage data for a project or a research group. For this, special privileges are needed which can be granted by RDMS support.

The chapters on Access, Uploading and Metadata of this wiki are for the researchers who want to store their data on the RDMS. If a group environment is needed then the RDMS Team Drive would be good option.

The chapter on Managing Projects of this wiki is for data managers and data stewards.
