| The landing page of the RDMS web portal consists of three main sections; the Menu, browser and the content of the selected menu item. By hovering over the {{:rdms:webapp:interface_question_button.png?direct&20|}} button on the Menu bar you will see all the menu items that are available for you. You can navigate through various Menu items of the web portal, such as ''Data browser'', ''Search'' or ''Metadata Template Settings''. By default, the landing page of the Web portal will look like is shown in the figure above for all users; meaning that the content of the ''Data browser'' will be present. The green box in the figure above is the browser of the Menu item. In this case, it is a directory browser allowing you quick access to your files and folder in the RDMS. You can reveal and hide the directory browser by using the {{:rdms:webapp:reveal.png?direct&20|}} and {{:rdms:webapp:hide.png?direct&20|}} buttons in the Menu bar, respectively. Depending on what permissions you have in given parts of the RDMS, you might not be able to see data or folders inside the ''Projects'' and ''Team drives'' environments. How to gain access to such environments will be explained in their corresponding pages of the Wiki. |

| If the ''Data browser'' is selected, the browser section will be a directory browser (see figure at the start of this page). There, you will find an overview of the different environments (if you have necessary permission as a user) such as ''Projects'', ''Team drives'' or ''My folder'' that can be used for easy navigation. The directory browser can be revealed or hidden by using the {{:rdms:webapp:reveal.png?direct&20|}} and {{:rdms:webapp:hide.png?direct&20|}} buttons, respectively. | To the right of the directory browser, you will find the area that shows the content of the currently selected section of the RDMS. For example, if you select ''My folder'', you will see the current files and folders under that location. In this part of the interface, you will also be able to reveal another window further to the right side. This window can be used to see general information about the selected file, information about the permissions assigned on it, and information about sharing options. This view is not always shown and you can reveal it only by selecting the {{:rdms:webapp:interface_info_button.png?direct&20|}} button from the interface. The button highlighted in the figure below will show information on the current directory, while selecting the button to the side of a folder or file name will display information on the selected file or folder. |
