Installed functionality
The applications installed on the VRW are mostly targeted at researchers that work with privacy sensitive data. Many of these researchers are from the Social Sciences and Humanities. Because of our experience with the needs of these researchers we offer a portfolio of software for that domain.
There are statistical applications and tooling for qualitative data analysis. We also offer tooling for anonymization, transcription and translation of audio data and event logging for observations. In this overview we try we give you the highlights of those installed applications.
During the intake of a new VRW we always ask what applications are needed during the research, this also give us insight in the technical specs that the VRW needs. Applications that are already installed of the UG desktops can easily be installed on a VRW, for other applications the standard procedure for installing software by the CIT applies.
