 The VRE has no Internet connection, so a VRE user is not able to install R packages from the regular repositories. There are two possibilities to install R packages in the VRE:

We solved the error by de-installing the Citrix Client and installing the client anew. But - and this is essential - install it from the dfh.usor.nl portal. The Citrix client from this portal is pre-configured with VRE settings
