====== Collaboration ======

A VRE must always be initialized by a researcher from the UG. 
Students and members of staff from the UG can use their UG credentials to login to a VRE.

The VRE is connected to [[https://www.surf.nl/en/services/identity-access-management/surfconext|SURFconext]]. The IT cooperation for Universities and higher education (SURF) provides this platform for federated authentication of connected institutions in the Netherlands. This is now a list with 14 institutions, but institutions can be added.

If the research project needs researchers outside of the UG and are not affiliated with any of the organizations that use the standard SURF functionalities for collaboration,these researchers can use an [[https://eduid.nl/home|EduID]] account to log in to their VRE.
