Getting access

The Hábrók system is available to support scientific research and education. University staff members that want to use the system for these purposes can request an account. Students may also use the system for these purposes (e.g. courses, theses, or projects), but only with approval from their course/thesis/project supervisor.

What is a cluster

Compute and data challenges

If you are struggling with getting your computations or data analyses done, switching to a computer cluster might help.
A computer cluster basically is a collection of big computers. These computers can be used for doing calculations that exceed the capacity of your desktop or laptop computer.

Workflow and data storage

In this section we will describe the basic workflow for working on the cluster. This workflow consists of five steps:

	* Copy input data to the system wide storage area
	* Prepare the job script:
 * Define requirements
