With Hábrók HPC

Hábrók is the high performance cluster (HPC) of the University of Groningen maintained by the CIT. In order store your data in the long-term and also archive it, you can easily transfer your data from Hábrók to your preferred RDMS environment. Since Hábrók is a Linux OS, iCommands are the most efficient way of transfering your data, working with metada and perform other tasks. For that purpose, iCommands are already installed on Hábrók.

Accessing the RDMS

First connect to your Hábrók environment with your preferred SSH client. In order to use the iCommands for the first time, you just need to create an iRODS configuration file called irods_environment.json and place it in this location in your home directory: ~/.irods/.

Under your home directory you will first create the hidden .irods/ dot folder:

$ mkdir ~/.irods

Check if it is created:

Proceed with creating and configuring your irods_environment.json environment file as explained in the iCommands section. Once you have the irods_environment.json file ready, you can initialize the RDMS connection as shown below:

Please refer to the iCommands section for further information on the configuration and various use cases of the iCommands.

Disclaimer: The RDMS team does not support Hábrók, therefore please refer to the user manual of Hábrók for further information or if you have difficulties connecting to Hábrók.
